EMSAN Meeting - January 2017

Meeting summary:

Updates on new collaborative studies to commence in the region including participation in the Right Iliac Fossa Treatment (RIFT) audit: http://wmresearch.org.uk/studies/rift/

Regional rib fracture audit approved and commencing imminently.

Several ideas pitched for new research studies to commence locally, with administrative groundwork underway.

Continued interest in national collaborative studies, with trainees currently involved in:

- The Hughes Abdominal Repair Trial (HART): http://welshbarbers.org/wbrgprojects.html

- The National Audit of Small Bowel Obstruction (NASBO) : http://nasbo.org.uk
